The Bishop Of St. John's Kaffraria''〕 he was educated at ''Kensington Grammar School'' and St Augustine's College, Canterbury.〔“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 Ordained Deacon in 1864 and Priest a year later his first post was as a Missionary in the Transkei.〔(Diocese History )〕 After 19 years he was appointed Coadjutor bishop of the Diocese, and four years later (when Bishop Callaway retired) took full control of the See. Bransby Lewis Key married Georgina Annie Waters (daughter of Rev HJ Waters) in October 1868 at St Johns Mission Station.
